I first came up with EasyLifter Referee, then eventually decided to develop more software under the same "brand".
I've seen a few ways referee lights have been implemented, ranging from fairly limited analog lamps that require a lot of wiring, to sophisticated commercial hardware that was also very expensive - making it prohibitive for lower level meets (especially outside the US).
In 2024, as a national referee for my country's IPF affiliate, I began developing this system initially just to improve local meet presentation. I soon realized the need for more affordable tools for organizing competitions; there's already a lot of expensive equipment involved in strength sports, and when you have to pay hundreds of dollars just for a decent way to show something as simple as referee decisions, something needed to change.
